Festival Rules 2013

Festival Rules for Ketchum Arts Festival 2013

1. TENTS MUST BE WEIGHTED OR STAKED TO WITHSTAND 60 MPH WINDS.

2. You may not sell your work outside of your assigned booth space and the area within a couple of feet of
it.   Please do not infringe on your neighbors' spaces.  Artists whose booths face Sun Valley Rd. may display
large scale artworks between their booths and the road at the discretion of the KAF board.

3.  Umbrellas are permitted, but the need to be weighted  to withstand 60 mph winds and set up touching
your booth.  We have designed wide aisles, but all aisles must be kept clear for fire truck easement.

CANTILEVERED UMBRELLAS ARE A MAJOR PROBLEM IN THE WIND.  WE DISCOURAGE YOU
FROM BRINGING ONE.

4.  No roaming vendors.

5.  Please keep music (radios, instruments you play, etc.) at a low volume out of consideration for other
artists and patrons.

6.  Due to customer complaints about artists' dogs, we prefer you do not bring your dog to the Festival.  If
you do, your dog must be on a short leash and tied up (when not being walked) according to the City of Sun
Valley law, and you will be responsible for any damage or injuries it may cause.  If a scuffle occurs, you will
be asked to remove your dog from the Festival site.  Here is an eloquent comment from a 2010 artist about a
dog problem at that Festival.

When there was a dog scuffle in our aisle, people ran for cover and would not stay to      browse
or shop.  I love dogs, and love how they are integrated into the community, but art shows are not the place
for dogs.
It is not fair to all of us artists who have invested so much time and expense into our products,
and it is not fair to all the dogs.  There is no way all of them can stay well behaved at all times.

7.  Please refrain from smoking on Festival grounds.

8. The Board of Directors of the Ketchum Arts Festival reserves the right to ask artists to move, modify or
remove items that we deem inappropriate or dangerous.

9.  We rent chairs for the food area.  THESE CHAIRS ARE NOT FOR USE IN YOUR TENT
DURING THE FESTIVAL.  Bring your own chair.

10. Generators are not permitted.  Overnight camping on site is not permitted.

     11. At breakdown, City of Sun Valley taxes must be paid.

     12.  For breakdown, vehicles are permitted onto the field for loading only.  No parking.  No
stopping to chat.  Load up, and drive off the field.
